Rev. Dr. Esther Robles

Esther is an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada, holding Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees with an emphasis in leadership and discipleship, and a BA in Accounting.

Her journey has led her to move out of her initial career as financial accountant into the unexpected call to pastor a hispanic church plant for 13 years. This involvement has led her to coach new pastors/planters of Latino and Haitian congregations.

She has taught biblical studies and spiritual formation for two seminaries with established Latino study programs, led Doctor of Ministry students in their dissertation projects, and served alongside farmworkers to provide access to christian and public education at Beth-El Farmworker Ministry (PC-USA) in Wimauma, Florida.

Currently, Esther is part of the advisory board of The Proclamation Project for the Disciples Office of the General Minister and President, is Education Coordinator for the National Hispanic Office of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and was our Assistant Pastor for Hispanic Ministries for seven years before she accepted her current role as Bridge Pastor.

Esther understands that the life in the Spirit is shaped, sharpened, and strengthened by diversity, story, and a welcoming and inclusive community. Her reflections and life experiences seek to support the uniqueness and divine worth of all communities and to uplift, honor, and remember all generations, (past, present and future), to move forward in faith and life. For Esther, these things are not static but highly dynamic and are expressed in the Church and to the world contextually through Scripture, compassion, justice, and the arts.

Esther es ministro ordenado de la Iglesia Cristiana (Discípulos de Cristo) en Estados Unidos y Canadá, con una Maestría en Divinidad y un Doctorado en Ministerio con énfasis en liderazgo y discipulado, y una Licenciatura en Contabilidad.

Su trayectoria la ha llevado a dejar atrás una carrera de contadora financiera y a recibir el inesperado llamado de pastorear una iglesia hispana durante 13 años. Esta experiencia la ha llevado a capacitar a nuevos pastores/plantadores de congregaciones latinas y haitianas.

Ha impartido estudios bíblicos y formación espiritual en dos seminarios con programas de estudio para latinos, ha dirigido a estudiantes de Doctorado en Ministerio en sus proyectos de tesis y ha colaborado con trabajadores agrícolas para facilitar el acceso a la educación cristiana y pública para Beth-El Farmworker Ministry (PC-USA) en Wimauma, Florida.

Actualmente, Esther forma parte del consejo asesor del Proyecto Proclamación de la Oficina del Ministro General y Presidente de los Discípulos, es Coordinadora de Educación de la Oficina Nacional Hispana de la Iglesia Cristiana (Discípulos de Cristo) y fue nuestra Pastora Asistente para Ministerios Hispanos durante siete años antes de aceptar su puesto actual como Pastora Puente.

Esther comprende que la vida en el Espíritu se moldea, se agudiza y se fortalece mediante la diversidad, la historia y una comunidad acogedora e inclusiva. Sus reflexiones y experiencias de vida buscan apoyar la singularidad y el valor divino de todas las comunidades, así como elevar, honrar y recordar a todas las generaciones (pasadas, presentes y futuras) para avanzar en la fe y la vida. Para Esther, estas cosas no son estáticas, sino muy dinámicas, y se expresan en la Iglesia y en el mundo contextualmente a través de las Escrituras, la compasión, la justicia y las artes.
